A Quick Note from the Sender

Hi, I’m Yolonda.

I’m a Christian, a writer, and a law student who has always found comfort in putting thoughts into words. Some of life’s most meaningful lessons have come during rough seasons: times of waiting, uncertainty, and disappointment. Through each one, God has continued to reveal His faithfulness in ways I couldn’t always appreciate at the time.

Writing has become one of the ways I process what God is teaching me. Whether through devotionals or poetry or journal entries, my desire is to write honestly about faith—not from the perspective of someone who has everything figured out, but as someone learning to trust Christ more each day.

When I’m not writing, you’ll usually find me studying, training for my next race, line dancing, or spending time in God’s Word.

Thank you for being here. I pray these words encourage you to draw closer to Jesus and remind you that you’re never alone in whatever season you’re walking through.

Why the Letters

Throughout Scripture, exile was more than a place—it was a season. It was a time of waiting, refining, and learning to trust God when life looked nothing like what His people expected.

I think many of us know what exile feels like.

Sometimes exile is loneliness. Sometimes it’s disappointment, unanswered prayers, or wondering why God seems quiet. It’s living in the tension between God’s promises and our present circumstances.

These writings are called Letters From Exile because they’re written from that in-between place. They aren’t letters written after arriving; they’re letters written while still learning, still hoping, and still trusting that God is faithful in the waiting.
